I see pioneers all around me!!

I was very fortunate to attend the premiere for, No Ordinary Hero - The SuperDeafy Movie. It was a tremendous, spearheading event! John Maucere and his beautiful wife, Lauren Abbott Maucere and children were glowing with pride and excitement.

Lead actress, Katie Leclerc, from ABC-Family's, Switched at Birth,  was a delight to meet. She brings a smile to all those around her, on and off screen.

The energy in the room was evident!!! We all raised our hands, crossed them at the wrist, and created the "I LOVE YOU" sign with both hands - [the sign for SuperDeafy]. If you look very closely, Marlee Matlin is out of her seat, proud to show her support. Everyone there was exhilarated, showing their undeniable support, as well.

SuperDeafy Premiere's Audience

Marlee Matlin's Oscar-winning performance in Children of a Lesser God was incredible to watch at 17 years of age. I couldn't have ever imagined my world coming full-circle. I saw pioneers all around me, willing to experiment and progress. Troy Katsur, who Directed The SuperDeafy Movie, is an outstanding example of innovation and drive.

We are surrounded by a community making headway for those of us actualizing our dreams and visions, as well!! For this I am grateful. Until next time... I hope you have a great day, a fantastic week and a fulfilled life!

Best!!!

Seriously... your face transforms, mutates, sours and glows!!

"Architecture is "frozen music"... Really there is something in this; the tone of mind produced by architecture approaches the effect of music."
-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

When a HEARING-person enters the DEAF-world, one is transformed for life. I had never truly expressed myself until I learned to sign. Your body is asked to participate in ways you didn't know existed. Your face transforms, mutates, sours and glows! Words come to life; words become three-dimensional!

With music added to the strengths of ASL, one can build and design frozen-pictures, concepts, and words in mid-air; a choreographed sequence. I've dedicated myself to this wonderment! Can't WAIT to share!

ASL-Music to my eyes and ears!! :))

Everyday is a new opportunity to express yourself! For me, today is a great day to start... I am officially a Blogger, beginning this journey with an open-mind. This is like ASL-music to my eyes and ears.

I am an American Sign Language [ASL] Interpreter; sometimes I interpret in Spanish, as well. Interpreting has taken me places I could never have imagined, including:

*Universities [CSUN, NYU, Baruch, Hunter, New School, RIT]
*Elementary-Schools, thru High-Schools [within NY, PA, VA, CA]
*CEO meetings, Wall-Street stock-exchange, Real-estate settings
*Political settings [Americans with Disabilities Act [ADA] policies-NYC, Mayor Rudy Giuliani]
*Job-training, Gym, Recreational, Culinary-school
*Alcoholics-Anonymous, Psychiatric/Rehabilitation-centers
*Courts, social-services, Juvenile Centers, Prisons, Police-emergencies
*Hospitals, medical-appointments, lamaze-classes [3 natural-births, 1 C-section]
*Music-concerts, Comedy, Theater, Film, TV, Dance

I've lived an incredible 18-year adventure as a professional Interpreter; from New York, across America, and all the way to California. I've volunteered as an Interpreter in places like, El Salvador [Central-America], and Colombia [South-America]. I want to continue this great adventure and start a new and exciting endeavor.

It is safe to say ASL & Music play a huge role in my life! I want to explore it, share it and set it free! Until my next post! Have a great day, a fantastic week and a fulfilled life! [WooP'!!! Soooooo excittttted!]

Best!!
